Family Travels Outside of France

Read about what happens during the Family travels to:

Croatia, August 2011: in which Family by the Seine travels to Croatia, during an unusual heat-wave, and still slightly jet-lagged, but discovers it doesn't matter, because there is ice cream everywhere.

England, January 2013: in which Family by the Seine sports jolly awful fake English accents while going for broke (and going broke) sightseeing in London -- tally ho!

India, February 2012: in which Family by the Seine, or 3/4 of it anyway, travels to India to meet up with relatives, none of whom are Indian, and discovers whether or not it is, in fact, a wise idea to take small children who can't stand spicy food to India for February break.

Italy, coming soon...

Ireland, Oct-Nov 2012: in which Family by the Seine discovers the importance of effective raingear, a good GPS, a big appetite, old friends, and a willingness to believe in all things mystical.

Morocco, May 2012: in which Family by the Seine tries not to get lost in the desert on a horse with no name, the (funky cold) medina, at midnight at the oasis, riding on the Marrakesh Express, or while rocking the kasbah.

New England, August 2012: in which Family by the Seine returns to the US to see family, charming New England towns, nature, old-timey Americana, and gigantic lobsters.

Senegal, Dec 2013-Jan 2014: in which Family by the Seine discovers that Senegal is not as cheap as one expects, that Anthony is the family's worst haggler, that French is good for something, and that they are not a family who vacations....they adventure.

Spain, coming soon...

Switzerland, Mar and Aug 2013, Feb 2014: in which Family by the Seine discovers a place that makes Paris look cheap by comparison but is at least grateful that the gorgeous views are free, the delicious dairy is plentiful, the animal sightings are constant, and it's like living in the book Heidi.
